La ceremonia se realizó en el Dolby Theatre de Hollywood.
Los premios Oscar año tras año es el evento más esperado de la cinematografía mundial. En su 96° edición la película “Oppenheimer”, dirigida por Christopher Nolan, fue la gran ganadora de la noche al llevarse 7 galardones, incluyendo mejor película y director.
La película “Poor Things”, dirigida por Yorgos Lanthimos, también tuvo un gran desempeño y ganó 4 premios, incluido el de mejor actriz principal.
“La sociedad de la nieve”, la película que relataba el accidente aéreo en los Andes de los jugadores de Rugby uruguayos estaba nominada en 2 categorías, mejor maquillaje y mejor película internacional. No logro conseguir ninguna estatuilla.
Entre las muchas perlitas que se dieron en la noche está la de Al Pacino, quien tuvo el honor de anunciar al ganador del premio más esperado, mejor Pelicula.
Lo hizo de una manera muy particular, a lo que muchos en las redes definieron con falta de emoción y o el anuncio menos emotivo de la historia de los Oscar. “Mejor Película… uh, tengo que ir al sobre para eso. Y lo haré. Aquí viene. ¿Y mis ojos ven a Oppenheimer? Si… Si…”
